This residence unfolds like a rhythm, serene to spirited, bold to quiet, but always homely at its core.

A home, at its core, should always feel like home. That was the guiding thought as we designed this residence for a young couple who wanted their spaces to be rooted in warmth, yet still carry a sense of character.

The journey begins at the emerald-green entryway, where an aged brass door sourced from Kochi’s antique markets stands as the first encounter. The patina against the deep green walls creates a jewel-like capsule, softened by natural light and greenery. It feels like a pause — a threshold that invites you to leave the day behind before stepping into the intimacy of home.

Beyond this, the living room opens as a grounding embrace. Soft light falls across muted walls and earth-toned furniture, each piece chosen to evoke quiet comfort. The seating is clean-lined and contemporary, but textures, cushions, and art lend it a lived-in ease. Calm, inviting, and intentionally restrained, it sets the stage before the home reveals its more spirited side.

Turn the corner, and the mood shifts. The bar room makes its presence felt with a twenty- foot-high handwoven red carpet — its weave inspired by Indian saris — stretched dramatically across the wall. Behind it, the bar sits tucked away, revealed only to those invited in. Low seating and a sculptural coffee table anchor the room, making it intimate yet theatrical — the true heart of evenings in this home.

From here, the dining area comes into view. A ten-seater, delicately engraved wooden table stretches the room, crowned by a sculptural light installation that throws a warm, golden glow. At its far end, a swing breaks the formality — playful, unexpected, and a favorite spot for coffee or casual chats.

To the side, the pooja glows softly in rusted hues, echoing the palette of the house in a more sacred tone. Compact but striking, it feels like a jewel box of calm — a presence that anchors without overwhelming.

Further in, the study takes on a quieter role, with warm wood, clean shelving, and natural light shaping a space for focus and creativity. The bedrooms then ease the mood once more — softer palettes, upholstered details, and layered

lighting creating sanctuaries designed purely for rest.

In its entirety, this residence unfolds like a rhythm — serene to spirited, bold to quiet — but always homely at its core. Less about grandeur, more about belonging. A house that lives with its people.
